New Music

Posted on April 21st, 2005 in Music by Fred McKinnon

Hey Ya’ll -

Well, don’t give up – I’m still trying to make some time for that new CD. Here’s a sample of a new piece that I composed and recorded this morning. It’s not “CD-ready” yet, but maybe you can “feel it”.

Let me know what you think – I don’t have a title yet, so it’s just called “New Song” for now!

New Song: Wow! That’s really beautiful. I love songs without words because the holy Spirit can speak very specifically when only He is saying something to my heart. This one reminds me of a bright summer day with white, fluffy clouds. As I look at them the Spirit speaks to my heart about looking beyond them; a comparison of what is visible with what is eternal.

    Awesome, as usual, Fred!

One person commented how this song reminded him of a “bright summer day with white, fluffy clouds” I agree- but add a soothing babbling brook, lush green grass and a couple of huge shade trees. To me- peaceful.

    Dear Fred,

How do you do it? Your lovely music just gets better AND better!

    Blessings!

OK Fred – very nice! Here’s some title suggestions, as requested:
    After the Rain
    High Pastures
    Mountain Meadows
    Love’s Ache
    When We Meet Again
    Will We Meet Again?
    Fond Farewell
    Purple Haze

OK, I think the last one is taken. A little variety in images, there, but there is a sort of peaceful melancholy about the piece. It evokes gentleness, peace, some sort of pain or loss, rain drops, a delicate longing, sadness but with hope. Hope those make sense.

Keep up your ministry, bro, you have some beautiful things to express.

    Blessings,

    Ed

    Fred,
In searching the internet for instrumental spiritual music I “happened” across your music! I PRAISE GOD for it! How BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you, for your music. It is peaceful, yet exhilerating as well! Again, very beautiful! Calming to my spirit! A breath of fresh air, I agree! I love both “new song” and “Love Extravagant”
