Rambling Monday

Hey Everyone -

It’s Monday, and off on a late note (well, a different note). I woke up around 2:00 AM with Will, our 3-year old (soon to be 4) in the bed. I think he’s going through stages where he’s having bad dreams, as he’s been getting up a lot lately, which usually doesn’t happen.

Problem is – once I’m “awakened” enough to have to take him upstairs and put him back to bed .. that’s usually “it” for me. I always have too much stuff to do (my fault) so when I’m awake it’s hard to go back to sleep. So I came to work and caught up on some bookkeeping and other stuff … from around 3-6 AM. 6:00 is usually when I get up for my own “quiet time” and Joy joins me in the studio at our house around 6:40 for our “together-quiet time” until 7:00. Today, I left a note on the coffee table saying “don’t wake me up!”. She did great – I never heard a peep, and slept until around 9:30.

Camping:
Me and the boyz had ourselves a genuine campout Friday night. We got a big tent and setup in the backyard. We even built a fire (shoulda seen those boyz scurrying around Friday afternoon looking for firewood). We did smores and the like – it was great fun. The older one, Jon Michael (5) had been teasing Will (3) about animals, coyotes, raccoons, etc., so Will was a bit scared about the whole idea. When we got in the tent and turned off the flashlight, Will said “Daddy – do raccoons have big, sharp teeth”? I said .. yes, so they can eat their supper .. and he said “will they come in the tent and we’ll be their supper”? I had to reassure him, but he was fine.

Here’s a big news flash – my older sister, Susan, jumped on board and has her own “MySpace” page. Check it out and if you are a “MySpacer”, tell her “hello”.

Well, I have staff meeting over on the mainland with our church – we meet on the mainland because Pastor Jay Sellers (MySpace) works over there for the City of Brunswick and he takes his lunch hour to be at the meeting. Jay was the “preacher” in Pastor Dan’s absense yesterday at CRCSSI and he really brought the word .. it was good – his teaching was the type that is “real”, “authentic” … has you on the edge of your chair. He posed some great questions that made you walk away thinking “man, that’s good”.

Have a great week – I hope to blog more this week – I’ve got a concert in Dublin, GA for those who are in the area – I’ll be outside on the sidewalk at Olive Branch Bookstore this Saturday – I’ll likely blog about it later.

For the Kingdom,
Fred
