Happy Father’s Day

Hey Everyone!

Well, Happy Father’s Day to all the Fathers out there. My day was just glorious. I led worship at Wesley UMC and Christian Renewal SSI. I was receiving some prayer and ministry at the altar after church, and when it was done, I looked up and my kids were there, in the auditorium and they shouted “Happy Father’s Day” and gave me a big hug. Picked up a “Dominos” pepperoni pizza for lunch (Joy and I had a Father’s Day Outback Steakhouse date this past Thursday!) and came home to a cool shirt my kids made w/ their handprints on it .. it reads “Best Dad, Hands Down”.

Then, I took a wonderful 2-hour nap! Topped that off by taking the whole family swimming at the fitness center. It was lots of fun. Jon Michael (my oldest) is swimming really well now, and we can have a lot of fun … both JM and Will let me take them all the way down 8ft to the “bottom” to touch. You know what …. they trust their Daddy.

Speaking of trusting Daddy … I’m at a place spiritually where I’ve searching for the will of the Lord about several things in our lives. One area that I’ve been frustrated over is the decision to record the piano CD I mentioned earlier. As badly as I want (and need) to do it, I’ve struggled over it from the time my church created the opportunity. Finally, I shared with the Pastor (and my boss!) yesterday that I just didn’t feel like it was time to do it … and he graciously released me. I’m sure it will happen - and likely, soon. But for now, I have to get some peace in my heart in some other areas … then, I know that anointing will flow freely.
Disappointing - but the music will come. There are some foundational issues that I’ve pressing through right now (no … not like a sin thing, but a quest to hear God clearly in what His specific plan is for myself, my family, and the ministry God has for us) in the near future. It’s one of those times when I sense something new … but have no clue what that means. So, I’m trying to find time to get away and hear more clearly.

I’m considering heading up to Atlanta to join the conference at Christian City Church - my sister attends there and she says it’s the most awesome thing all year. I’ve visited C3 once before and was really blessed by what I saw and heard. The Pastor spoke on vision and culture that day, and it’s stuck inside of me ever since.

Well, that about wraps it up for today. Mondays are generally my “bookkeeping” day where I try to make sense out of all the various transactions from my e-businesses. Of course, that’s a blessing because I get to write my tithe check, which is always an act of worship (and often times a serious act of faith!).

Hey - as I close - please continue visiting the IndieHeaven radio chart each day and voting for my instrumental piece, “Experience Vellano”. I’m finally in the Top 20 there. HOORAY!

For the Kingdom,
FRED
