Merry Christmas! I hope that your season of Thanksgiving was gracious and blessed and that you are excited about celebrating the season of our Lord’s birth. This is always an exciting time for me as I celebrate these holidays and anticipate a new year of direction, vision, and ministry.

On September 10, 2005, people from across the Southeastern United States gathered together on Jekyll Island, GA to participate in the first “Worship Under the Stars” concert held by Worship International and led by Worship Leader/Producer Fred F. McKinnon. What began as a vision to hold a community worship event in the beautiful 1,000-seat Jekyll Island Amphitheater quickly turned into an indoor worship experience at the Jekyll Island Covention Center due the threat of Hurricane Ophelia. The forced venue change was both frustrating and disappointing but everyone soon saw the blessing in disguise. When the doors opened at the Jekyll Island Convention Center, over 2,500 worshipers streamed through resulting in a standing room only crowd. The Church was together, in union, lifting up the Name of Christ.

Produced and Led by Fred McKinnon with a world-class band, this is a landmark release for Highest Praise Productions. Mixed and recorded by Randy Adams of Dallas, TX this album captures the energy and intimacy of a true worship encounter. The DVD captures the entire evening from 6 cameras and was directed and edited by top video professionals.

Fred McKinnon – Nominated for Momentum Award

I have an awesome “praise report”. I’ve been nominated in several categories for a “Momentum Award” from IndieHeaven.Com. This is a huge honor! All of the nominees are listed and Category Finalists will be chosen based on the number of votes each artist receives. I am so grateful for the support of you, the Highest Praise list members, fans, friends, and family. If you feel so inspired, I’d be honored if you would consider visiting the IH Momentum Awards site and casting your vote. (you are allowed 1 vote from your computer, ever!). If enough votes are received, I’ll move to the “Finalists” phase during January. Winners will be presented at the annual CIA Summit in Nashville, TN in March.

IndieHeaven founder and CIA Summit director Keith Mohr states, “It’s important to recognize and applaud the efforts made in recent years by artists who are independent. By providing them the recognition they have earned we hope to increase their platform and awareness. There are many independent artists who are doing an incredible job with their music, and most importantly their mission. We look forward to the awards being a part of our annual artists conference.”

Mohr also states, “4 of our award winners from 2006 have seen advancement in their music mission since our first awards. Clearview (now known as Willet) received a recording contract and is on tour full time. Kent Bottenfield received a recording contract with a very well known producer who has started a new label. Sean Smith and Matt Earle are now being distributed nationally by TAG Artist Group.”

I’m blessed and honored to see the opportunity that God has presented through this. My prayer and hope is that it’s not “about me” – but about the possibilities and exposure that can be brought to His Kingdom.

World Vision – Feed A Child:

Finally, you may have noticed over the last few months that you get occassional emails from World Vision – “Feed a Child”. Please note that in accordance to our Privacy Policy, we never sell, rent, or share your email addresses. However, we have partnered with World Vision in agreement to send these occassional emails to our subscribers. I personally do the “sending” – not World Vision. I believe this is a great cause, as God clearly instructed us to “feed the poor and clothe the naked”. One such email blast will be sent tomorrow. I just wanted you to know that we’re taking care of your privacy, and that I’ve not given away your addresses to World Vision, but send those mailings out directly. I hope you don’t mind receiving it every couple of months. It’s truly a great cause and ministry.
