Various Blog Entries of Friends
Posted on March 8th, 2007 in Old-General by Fred McKinnonHey Everyone -
Happy Thursday. Got a few great blogs for some of you out there who like to read with your morning coffee. (aah – coffee – what a super word. The Starbucks is being built down the street now … our first on St. Simons Island … and 4 in Brunswick on the mainland – we’re arriving .. and my 21-day coffee/caffiene fast was over this past Sunday!).
I enjoy reading several blogs … not like I have time to waste – but I typically scan them while I sip my coffee before getting started with work – usually between 8:00 – 8:30 AM. I don’t spend a lot of time reading books – I try .. but usually I bog down.
Anyway – I like to use my Google HomePage … with it, I can add blogs and the most recent posts always show up .. so, when I open my browser, it loads my “Google Homepage” (setup your Google Homepage here) … several things load for me – the weather, MySpace alerts, some news headlines, and of course, my favorite blogs. I used to have the top “YouTube” videos displayed as well, but found it more of a distraction when it was obvious that the top videos usually had content that I had no business viewing – so why even see the titles and opportunity — oops, that’s another entry ….
Speaking of Google … if you’d like to subscribe to MY BLOG via Google’s Homepage, just click this button:
It also works for Yahoo and AOL homepages:
Anyway … here are a few that I’ve enjoyed recently:
“Rock Star Worship Leading” at the Ragamuffin Soul Blog
(special thanks to my friend, fellow Pastor, prayer partner, musician, and blogger, Robert Pooley, Pastor of Coast Community in Gulf Breeze, FL)
“Charismatic – and why I hate the word” – by Bobby Lepinay, another great friend, pastor, prayer warrior, and blogger – part of a small group of men (including Robert above) that I pray and fast with each year at a retreat in January …
“Thoughts on Falling Down .. and Getting Up” … by Ben Harrell .. Ben is the Youth Pastor and Worship Leader at Christian Renewal Church of St. Simons Island – where I served for the past 11 years. He doesn’t blog often, but he was sharing this revelation with me enroute to lunch one day, and I said “Ben, you’ve gotta blog that” … so check it out. He’s the real deal, for sure.
Enjoy …
