I’ve Been Tagged by Rich Kirkpatrick – Birthday Events

Posted on April 14th, 2007 in Old-General by Fred McKinnon

Hello Again Everyone!

I’ve been “tagged” by a friend, blogger, and fellow Worship Pastor, Rick Kirkpatrick. Here is the criteria for this particular tag:

When tagged, you have to take your birthday date and find out some things about it. You have to find, events, other people who were born on the same day, deaths and a holiday.

“Tag you’re it” – means in this case, I get to share special events surrounding the day I’m born.

Because I don’t typically post something so quickly after what I feel is a “significant” post (yes, I have to confess, sometimes I just post random jibberish for my own therapy, which I’d not call significant at all!) … I want to encourage those who read this “I’ve Been Tagged” post to be sure and also catch my post from a few hours ago, “In Your Rush Can You Miss Greatness”.

So, thanks to my friend Rick for tagging me … and check out his blog. My birthday events below … and of course, I’ll tag someone else – who will it be? Keep reading?

My Birthday: Nov 6

Other people who were born on Nov 6, and events on this special day:
- my first cousin, Andy Teck was born
- John Philip Sousa, the king of American march music, was born in Washington, D.C. (1854) (Note, this was cool because I won the “John Phillip Sousa Music Award once, in highschool)
- Jefferson Davis was elected president of the Confederacy. (1861)
- On Nov. 6, 1860, former Illinois congressman Abraham Lincoln defeated three other candidates for the U.S. presidency. (1860)
- Lots of other presidents were elected, as Nov 6 is often Election Day here in the grand ole’ USA.
- Composer Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky died in St. Petersburg, Russia. (1893)
- A jury in Beverly Hills, Calif., convicted actress Winona Ryder of stealing $5,500 worth of merchandise from Saks Fifth Avenue. She was later placed on three years probation.
- Roman Emperor Constantius II raises his cousin Julian to the rank of Caesar, entrusting him of the government of the Prefecture of the Gauls. (AD 355)
- Sally Field, Actress, was born (1946)

And tons of other events listed in the Wikipedia!

Now, I’d like to tag the following:
Robert Pooley, Pastor of Coast Community Church in Gulf Breeze, FL (you had to know it was coming, boy)
Bobby Lepinay, Pastor of Harvest Outreach Church in Pensacola, FL (like you both have time to do this – use wikipedia!)
Jace Vek, Emmy-Award Winning Composer, Conductor, Virtuoso Pianist

Tag, your’e it, guys!

Later,
Fred
