Hey Everyone!

So last week was a slow week for me in the blog-o-sphere … slow meaning I was “slow” to post anything and “slow” to keep up with my favorite blogs. It was just one of those “wild weeks” – with the holiday, schedules changing, staying up late, etc ….

So, it’s quiet right now (a rare thing) … I just got the kids to bed … Joy is out w/ some girlfriends … and I thought “I just might take a minute to ramble” … so, here it goes! I also think I am going to have to file “RSS Bankruptcy” … I’m just overwhelmed, and need a clean slate .. sorry, all you friends out there .. if you wrote something really awesome, you’ll just have to write it again! (grin)

1. I’m sad that I’m 0-2 on Worship Confessionals the last two weeks. Last week, I brought the camcorder bag to the church, but Joy had removed it .. and we still aren’t sure where it is … last I heard she “thinks” it’s in her closet. Maybe I’ll go check.

2. No camcorder. But I did notice a fresh, unopened bag of tostitos, left over from 4th of July party we had, and covered up a big plate, threw some shredded mozzarella and cheddar cheese on’em, and nuked them – instant nachos. Not so great for my pledge to better health. Last update I think I was celebrating that I’d lost nearly 20 pounds since Easter – from 230 to 210. Now, after falling off the bandwagon a few times, having an entire weekend of bad eating, another holiday, and some “stress food” days, I’m kicking around 216 … time to get going again . Joy has unpacked some “Size 35/36″ shorts from storage … 1) to motivate me, 2) to give me more clothes to wear so we don’t fight when the only two pairs of shorts I pretty much wear now are dirty in the laundry.

3. TheWorshipCommunity.Com is totally blowing up … that’s a good thing. I invested in a paid email ad to subscribers of Worship Musician and Christian Musician and this went out on this past Friday – our membership more than doubled over the weekend. It’s a happening place, and I hope you’ll check it out. It’s vision fulfilled for me.

4. Did I mention I got on FaceBook? It’s been kinda fun watching what other people say and do. It’s not like I really need to have yet another Web 2.0 distraction in my life. What am I thinking? I even learned to update my ‘status’ from my cell phone. What a geek. How did I land such a “smokin hot wife” (thanks for that, Travis).

5. Speaking of Travis … he’s thinking about starting a blog. It’s already online .. with the crummy ole’ “Hello World” post, infamous as the default post on WordPress. Surf over and give him a comment to “get with it”.

6. Had our first “The Worship Community::Local Edition” meeting last week – an idea I’ve had to gather all the local worship pastors and leaders together once a month for lunch, prayer, encouragement. Doug Fowler and his son, Dougie, came up and gave us some awesome nuggets on developing bands and musicians. They are serving at Celebration Church in Jacksonville, FL – and that place is happenin’, big time. Remind me to blog on that later.

7. I’m a glimpse away from the big 1,000 feedback mark on Ebay … soon, I’ll be doing the Dave Ramsey thing and calling up his show and screaming “We’re Debt Free” … thanks in no small part to Ebay and my warped entreprenurial sense of putting stuff online and selling it.

8. I’m realizing that as nice as it is to offload all these ramblings, nobody much would keep reading anything past here … and I’m lucky to have anyone even this far .. but ’tis quite OK … I have more space in my mind, now. (or do I?)
