That’s Quotable … Steven Furtick, and idea!

Posted on July 20th, 2007 in Faith by Fred McKinnon

Today .. I was listening to Pastor Steven Furtick preaching away on “Confessions of a Pastor”. Steven is a young pastor (I can say that because I guess I’m nearly a decade older) who is turning Charlotte, NC upside down with Elevation Church. I’ve been watching this church and his blog for sometime, and really appreciate his ministry.

There were a number of “quotables” in the sermon … but this one made me stop my walk on the beach, dig my ipod out of my swimsuit pocket, and bookmark the time …

“religion makes your personal preference a Biblical principle …”

hear the context on his podcast (iTunes link) …. it was about worship music … and was a powerful moment.

On a side note:

Today when I posted my “Worship Q&A” post, I couldn’t help but think about what it would be like to do some of these “blog entries” on video instead of just typing away. I mentioned it to Joy (who I miss terribly, she and my kids have been away for 9+ days now!) and she said “I’d much rather watch the video than read the blog” … so I made a run to the Circuit City and bought a tripod for the DV Camcorder we already have. So … who knows … maybe I’ll start adding video the the text from time to time.

For the Kingdom,

Fred
