New Instrumental Soundtrack
Posted on August 17th, 2007 in Church Life, Music by Fred McKinnonHey Everyone!
HAPPY FRIDAY. I don’t have a Worship Confessional for this past Sunday … yet. It’s on the burner. However, I would love to share some music. As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago in the “I Love My Job” post, I’ve been scoring some original background music for short testimonial clips we’re using each Sunday during our “iReach” series.
I finished a 5:30 piece yesterday that we’ll call the “Hernandez Testimony Soundtrack”. Ultimately, we are getting “model releases” to display the full videos soon on our church site so that you can see the faces, hear the testimony, and see the awesome “iReach” interface that our guys created.
I especially enjoyed this clip because it was peaceful and relaxing. I used only 2 tracks – a Steinway Concert Grand sample. (SampleTank 2 XL RTAS plugin for ProTools and the “Background” string patch on my Yamaha S80) Rather than going the lazy route and just recording with a piano/string combination patch, I opted to record the piano and then weave the strings in and out where appropriate. Constant piano/strings throughout this 5:30 minute interview would’ve gotten monotonous, so I hope that adding the strings in and out separately helps this piece live a little. (any lessons, Jace … are you reading?)
I’m trying this new Flash Music Player plugin for the post – so click the play button below and it should expand and play. I hope you enjoy it! And as always, I welcome your feedback … good or bad!
