A Famous Call about My Town!

Hey Everyone -

Today is one of those fun days … I found this awesome website called FightMusic.Com that has all the college football bands, fight songs, vamps, cheers, etc. We’re having a “Married Live” event at church Saturday evening and the theme is a “Tailgate Party” – complete with the good tailgating food and a bonfire.

My task as Worship Director was to assemble a great mix CD to have playing while people are mixing, visiting, during the desert time, etc. This site has become a gold mine for me.

But I couldn’t make a mix CD without including perhaps the most famous “call” by one of the most famous “voices” known in the South. The infamous “Lindsay Scott” call with Larry Munson.

If you’re a football fan, you gotta love this call .. unless you are a Florida fan, of course. But listen to the very end of it – he talks about all us Georgia Dawgs up on St. Simons Island … that’s my home!

Man, I’m so glad ESPN is picking up the GA-AL game this weekend – it moved the time later so we won’t miss the game due to the Married Live event.

    Yeah and they moved LSU up to 2:30?!?! Right in the middle of my daughter’s 2 year birthday party! Come on! Looks like we’ll be wrapping up early :)

    Ah, LSU – great team, great fans, incredibly LOUD stadium.

    Ya, I’d be surprised if somebody didn’t bring a radio or TV to the Married Event had it been in the middle of the UGA game.

    Hey Fred, I am the worship pastor here in Statesboro Ga. My son just started taking gymnastics and I ran into one of your friends, I forgot her name but she is the wife of Dutch. He is the worship Pastor at Believers. But anyway, it’s been a while since we have seen you and I am very glad everything is going well. I don’t know if you remember, but you and Dutch played for me to sing in a wedding many years ago. But anyway, I am interested in making a CD for my worship team. Dutch’s wife said that you have a studio. I have really been praying for years to do this and I am asking God for direction and where He wants us to go. I want to make a worship CD and it would be cool to do it live. What do you think? I was wondering what you would charge for me to do this and do you need to come here or do we need to go there?
