Worship Confessional #10, Sept 23 2007

We had a great Sunday at St. Simons Community Church. It was the closing week on our “Money Matters” series. David Wills from Atlanta, GA was the guest speaker. Once again we opened with the O’Jay’s version of “For the Love of Money”. Donald Trump never popped in to say “you’re fired”, which was a disappointment, but other than that – it was awesome. A bunch of characters are included in this week’s confessional video, including Todd who was apparently VERY HUNGRY. Whoever was scheduled to bring breakfast must have forgotten, but this was funny in light of the ongoing discussion about “taking care of your musicians” currently happening at TheWorshipCommunity.Com.
Taking some constructive feedback from some band members and overseers at church, I intentionally went back a bit and included some of the older, more familiar songs that were “happening” during the previous year or so before I arrived in March. This was the right thing to do, as those songs had an extra special “energy” and Joy said she felt like the corporate participation was powerful and more engaging.
Walk in: “For the Love of Money” (The O’Jays)
Song #1: O Taste and See (Brian and Jenn Johnson)
Song #2: Blessed Be Your Name (Matt Redman)
Song #3: Be Unto Your Name (Robin Mark)
Song#4: Jesus Paid it All (Passion/Northpoint Live version)
Closer: Take From Me my Life (3rd Day Arrangement)
Here’s the video for your enjoyment … how was YOUR SUNDAY?
