HPP Publishing Song, “Hey God” makes NY Times!
Posted on November 9th, 2007 in Music by Fred McKinnonHey Everybody -
Got an exciting email from Jason Wallis, the writer of the praise song “Hey God”. Jason is a good friend, and my company, Highest Praise Productions, is honored to publish his music for praise and worship through our “HPP Publishing Company” catalog. “Hey God” was originall recorded on Jason’s “Deep Calling” CD which is now out of print, but has been recorded by tons of other people now – mostly as a great kid’s praise song.
Seems that this song was mentioned in a New York Times article today about a church in CA. You can view the article on the New York Times website – it’s on page 2 of this article.
Here’s the original “Hey God” song … it’s a LOT of fun. I’d post versions by NorthPoint and other ministries here, but don’t have permission to post their version. (for those who don’t understand copyrights, we own the song copyrights, but the people who record it still own the rights to the audio)
Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Very cool. I saw this article yesterday by way of Relevant Magazine (relevantmag.com). Pretty good article and awesome that it’s an HPP song!
It’s a rockin’ song. Really fun.
I remember leading that song in youth group years ago. Great news!
