Why is it that …

Why is it that …

On school days, it takes an Act of Congress to pull my kids out of bed. You drag them out, re-drag them out, and climb the stairs multiple times to make sure they are up and getting dressed. They complain and whine about not wanting to wake up.

But on Saturday, Sunday, and today (first day of Christmas holidays/no school), they are jumping on the bed at 6:45.

why?

    As a father of a 2-year old and 8-month old you cannot believe how much I am longing for the day when it will be a burden in my life to wake my children up!! :)

    I think it’s because they don’t look forward to a day at school, but on a day with no school there’s only one thing to do . . . . . . PLAY! Who in their right minds would want to waste play time with something as dumb as sleep??

    I think this concept lasts forever. I’m going on 30 and still, on a Saturday, when I have nothing to do but sleep, I’m wide awake at 7:00! Stinks for sure.

    I guess it’s a universal thing with kids. I think it’s because they want to be in charge of when they wake up and show you who’s boss.
