My New Office

Posted on January 8th, 2008 in Church Life by Fred McKinnon

Hey Everyone

Haven’t been able to post – we’ve been packing and moving.  Yesterday, we started the big move from our old church offices in the Shops at Demere on St. Simons Island to our amazingly cool, brand new SSCC Facility on Frederica Road.  The move is happening over 3 days … and we’ll work out of the new offices now, although we won’t have services here until March 2.

So … I’d like to show you my new office.

Obviously, my stuff didn’t make the cut.  (haha).  Actually, my office furniture and desk are on backorder – up to 2 weeks.  In the meantime, I’ll be using Travis‘ old desk (his sweet new desk and dual 22″ flat screens are here and in his new office, which is right next door to mine).  Hopefully, Travis’ old desk (my temp desk) will arrive via the moving vans today.  In the meantime, my cardboard boxes will work just fine.

Hopefully I’ll have an updated pic soon.

In the meantime, back to work.

Oh yeah -

  1. Sunday was great
  2. I’m excited about our church relocation
  3. Go LSU – I hear Georgia is now #2 on the AP
  4. my back hurts
  5. I’m sad that I’m missing the annual 3-day prayer/fasting retreat with my buddies for the first time in 12+ years (lost count)

God bless,

Fred

how exciting! the new facility has sounded really exciting as you have described it over the past months. there is nothing like a fresh start to reawaken the creative juices. go forth and create! on a different note, i bet this is the cleanest your office will ever be! better enjoy that too.

Nice! You put all of us to shame…

Oh, wait that’s not intentional? You didn’t mean to have the most minimalist office in the history of creative arts and worship directors?

    Haha. Blessings in your move!

I am happy to report that AFTER YOU LEFT the moving truck arrived and we put my old desk in your office. And your new desk hutch too. You just don’t have the bottom part. But… you can imagine what it would be like if the bottom was there.

P.S. I ran the sound system in youth with a couple of the students this afternoon. Everyone in the church building heard it and came in. Literally everyone. That room is loud and awesome.
