Hey Everyone,

Pastor David implemented something here called “1-Thing” last week – more on that soon. Basically, he challenged us to come in and spend the first hour of our day “on the clock”, in our offices – doors closed, in prayer and worship. iPod, iTunes, Bible … no cell phones, no email, no texting … just worship, prayer, Word.

It’s been awesome.

This morning I decided to turn off iTunes and have some of my own worship, so I plugged my M-Audio KeyStation Pro88 into GarageBand and just started playing and praying. I only have the default piano samples in GarageBand, so I’m not thrilled with the sound, but thought I’d share this with you.

It’s about 4:30 long. Maybe you could dare yourself to block out the next 4:30, close your door, turn down your lights, turn off your email/IM, and just listen … wait, and pray.

Hey Fred, would you mind blogging about your “office” mac/music set up. You gave a disclaimer about not liking the sounds of the garage band default piano, but dude that sounded awesome. I’m curious to “see” your setup, so that I can play around like that.

Commit that hour and pray, and you’ll be surprised how your “to-do” list changes, and what you get accomplished. Also, don’t feel like if you don’t take “1-hour” that you’ve missed the mark. Start by committing 15 minutes or something small … God will honor that big-time, plus, the discipline is good for us all.
