I just discovered a free service that’s out there – not sure how long it’s been available, but anyway … it’s called “BlogRush“.

Basically, BlogRush syndicates other blog headlines and includes them on your blog (ie. in your sidebar, where you add the widget code). Of course in doing so, YOUR BLOG HEADLINES get syndicated on other blogs as well.

BlogRush is “live” here on FredMcKinnon.Com (see the graphic in the bottom left sidebar) and is installed, but pending “Quality Review” on TheWorshipCommunity.Com.

You get 1 syndicate credit for every 1 page view you give, but it gets better. Promote BlogRush (like I’m doing) and as people signup under you (referrals), you also get credits for THEIR traffic. Now that’s cool.

PRO: great way to get more traffic and incoming links. Two sizes to choose from, free, and easy to setup.
CON: need to be hosting your own blog, so freebie sites like wordpress.com won’t work, as they don’t support the javascript needed, or custom install/modification.

If you are using WordPress (self-hosted, not WordPress.Com), the EASIEST way to do it is by adding a “Text Widget”, pasting the code into the empty Text Widget, and dragging it to the place in your sidebar that you want.

Since it went active yesterday, I’ve got several hundred credits, and my content has been syndicated and displayed on about 150 blogs.
