Pray for Steven Curtis Chapman Family

Just got the tragic news that Steven Curtis Chapmans‘ 5-year old daughter was killed tragically today in her driveway. Apparently, one of the older brothers was driving a SUV and didn’t see his sister and struck her.

As you may have seen in this post, we celebrated my son Will’s birthday today … and then to see someone tragically lose their child on the same day is just painful.

I pray for them, for their family, and especially for this teenage brother who happened to be driving the car.

    This was shocking to me. I will be sure to pray for him and his family. I can’t imagine how his son feels right now. Wow.

    My heart breaks for this family. Steven has done so much for the cause of Christ. Hardships so often come to people who don’t “qualify” for it.

    I pray that God will comfort as only He can do. This is so incredibly painful. I cannot believe how bad this hurts.

    Father, I pray for the Chapman family right now. I can’t even imagine how it feels to lose a child like this, but You can. Even now, I thank you for surrounding this family with Your peace – to guard their hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. A peace that surpasses all understanding.

    I thank you for what this family has already given to the kingdom and pray blessings over them in all areas.

    I just returned from China, and on the way back, my plane had families who had worked with Chapman to adopt. It was amazing to see how the kids had bonded with the parents after only 10 days. It is a sight I will never forget. It is heart breaking to see someone who has done so much good go through so much pain. I pray that God provide the Chapman family the peace and comfort that only He can provide.
