Twitter Deals

Pardon the off-topic interruption … but wanted to let you know about a great opportunity for you to do two things:
1. Find some great deals
2. Be a blessing to me (and my family) at the same time.
As must of you know who’ve read my blog any amount of time, I operate an e-biz called “HPP Enterprises” which sells products (mostly electronics, electronic accessories, iPod, iPhone, Apple MacBook, computer software, games, etc) on multiple storefronts, including GetSkinsNow.Com (cases and accessories), HPPEnterprises.com (electronics, components), DiscountKidsGames.Com (games, software), and on 3rd party sites like Amazon, Ebay, and Pricegrabber.
Yesterday I decided to create a “twitter” account for the e-biz which will be used to send out updates of special deals and sales. For example, we have cool cases for the 3rd Gen iPod nano for less than $10 (both leather cases and toughskin or clear plastic cases). We also got a great deal on 7″ Audiovox Portable DVD Players for $89.00!
If you’d like to be notified about deals like this, follow the twitter feed and/or the blog feed for HPP Enterprises.
Some of the products are shipped from my office on St. Simons, but many are dropshipped directly to you from the manufacturer or distributor, which is how we can have really low prices (and how I can have this business to supplement our ministry income).
So … I’d like to ask all of my friends … if you’re in the market for electronics, computer games, video games, or any type of electronic accessories (cases, chargers, etc), keep me in mind. You can always surf the sites, or even contact me directly … maybe you’ll get a special COUPON CODE for a discount if you blog about the purchase!
As for the content here on the blog that counts most … thanks for allowing me the opportunity to pitch this commercial … more worship leading tips, worship confessional, and ministry/leadership info soon to come.

I’m a bit of an anit-consumer. I buy very little and if I do buy, I go for used first. But I have to say I really appreciate this post. I also believe it is 100% a ministry related post.
You are a guy in paid full-time ministry but you also tent make as well.
Tons of ministry guys are in this position. Tons of guys tent-make full-time and don’t get paid by the church.
I would probably like to see more posts on this blog about what you do to provide for your family while still working for Jesus full time. I think it’s very relevant.

Thanks man, you have NO IDEA how timely your comment was. I spent about a half hour bantering back and forth with a friend on “FaceBook”. He was ticked off that I “spammed” him. See, I also “twittered” to my friends, and asked them to checkout the new HPP Twitter feed, which included that DVD deal.
I don’t intend to “twitter” my friends every day with a new deal on my e-biz … not by any means. It was a simple tweet to say “hey friends, I’ve started a new twitter account for my biz, and feel free to follow it if you’d like”.
Well, Twitter updates my FaceBook status … so, as far as this friend was concerned, he saw the “ad” in this friend’s timeline, and said “no offense, but I’m gonna remove you as a friend if you are going to spam”.
It struck a nerve with me .. .for a few reasons, one, accusing me of spamming him, two .. for posting that publicly on my wall. We bantered back and forth, him telling me he didn’t care about my twitter, email updates, and didn’t sign up for him, and had he known I’d be spamming news about my business, he would’ve have signed up.
I finally said “no love lost, just don’t add me as a friend, then”.
I was already in a sensitive place, as I was in the car on the way up to a memorial service … so, yeah – it was a tough exchange. Then, I get your comment.
It made my day man. Of course, you probably actually took the time to read it, and see that I had no intention of abusing my blog and personal twitter feed every day … it was an invite.
I appreciate your grace, and your affirmation. Thanks, bro – it means a lot!

My comment is that if that guy you were talking to is a friend, you don’t need any enemies. If there’s a problem, it’s his problem and not yours. I sensed no “shove”, no “push”, and certainly no intent to “spam” anybody. So if this so-called friend was really a friend, he’d have known your heart was not to do what he accused you of doing. Rather, he revealed his heart quite clearly. By the way, I hit the wrong button apparently, ’cause I got a message that I had asked to “un-subscribe” and would be deleted, which is definitely NOT what I intended to do.

You can re-subscribe on the right sidebar any time … thanks, Dad! I appreciate your thoughts as well.
BTW – I completely let it slip yesterday, as we were obviously a bit distracted … HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

This is quite humorous! I was graciously given a MacBook Pro and am in the market for protecting my new toy…um…I mean computer. I then remembered, “Hmmm doesn’t Fred have some ebusiness or something?”
