An awesome story! And yes, I am a believer, for your Mom and I have seen an angel who appeared to us in the Atlanta airport many years ago and provided much-needed help in a time of crisis. I “think” I have one. And now, after reading this, I’m more convinced. I was serving in Macon Ga as a summer youth director when I was going to Asbury College in Wilmore KY. I was alone that night in the house I was staying at, and was on the phone with a dear friend of mine late at night.

We had been talking for hours. I was sitting in a chair and it had gotten dark. I was so “into our conversation” of the goodness of God that I hadn’t even gotten up to turn on the lights in the house.

My friend was on “a soap box” that night about how good God was. She had been talking non-stop for a long time, and sounded like she was just getting wound up – which was fine by me. I was going through a really rough time in my life at that moment and was feeling pretty hopeless – even to the point that I was doubting my own salvation.

Now, periodically a car would go by outside and the reflections of its headlights would “travel” around the room. But suddenly I FELT something powerful. The only way I can explain it was like when I was terrified about something, but it was a little different. Then a “light” appeared – coming out of the bathroom, down the hall and turning into my bedroom.

I can only explain what it “appeared” to be: there was no body to it. Just the head, and the head was almost to the ceiling (this was an old house with high ceilings). It had what looked to be a crown on its head and was transparent.
I thought I was seeing a ghost.

At that very moment – in the middle of a sentence – my friend stopped and said “What in the world was THAT?” Even over the phone she exerienced its presence! I told her what I had seen and she screamed and cried and said she felt it was an angel there for the express purpose of showing me that I was NOT alone.

I can count on one hand the number of times I’ve shared this experience since 1987. Like Craig, I didn’t want to seem like “one of those”. I still believe it was an angel, and no one can ever take that experience away from me.

Not quite as “fantastic” as what Craig saw, but I experienced it just as well. And the experience will stay with me as long as I live.
