Myself?

Posted on August 26th, 2008 in Faith, Life and Family by Fred McKinnon

Hey Everybody,

Sunday Setlists has been going great. If you missed it, check out this Sunday’s post, and see what all the other churches are doing.

Today I was supposed to resume the now-elusive “CCLI Top Songs” series. But I can’t.

Confession:

I don’t feel myself. I haven’t since Sunday. Even my bass player said backstage on Sunday, “Fred, what’s up with you, you don’t seem yourself”. I even said on the Worship Confessional video that I felt out of sync. I went home yesterday afternoon and pretty much zoned out. I went to bed early, like 9:00. Never really slept, though I was exhausted. Joy came in the room sometime after 10:00 and woke me up (though I was only half asleep) and that state of peace and rest that I wanted so desperately kept eluding me, so I finally took a little OTC sleep aid. It finally kicked in (and I still feel it’s affects).

I can’t put my finger on it. It’s hitting me heavy – and I’m feeling it PHYSICALLY, EMOTIONALLY, and SPIRITUALLY. Funk? … that’s an understatement.

Would you pray for me?

Fred – I’ll definitely be praying for you. We can pray for each other. I’m going through a bit of a rough season as well. God’s using it majorly to His glory – but as you know – sometimes the season’s He works the most on you are the toughest!

Fred, I will definitely be (and am) praying for you. The funny thing is, I had a similar experience over the weekend (no Tylenol PM, though). I wonder if there are some spiritual implications, viz. warfare in the heavelies, etc. (Sorry, don’t want to get too deep, but.. you know.)
    Be blessed!

Of course I’ll be praying for you! Seems to be a lot of that going around these days. However, our Father says that He can work ALL things together for our good if we love Him and are the called according to His purpose. I believe you do, you are, and He will!

  7. Mom says:

I will be praying for you as well. There are definitely times when we are under attack – pray in tongues!!!!! In doing so the Holy Spirit may give you revelation as to what is going on. Also – I have found that it always helps for me to focus on my blessings from my Father. He likes that too!!

  8. Russ says:

Said a prayer for you today. Hope you get to feeling like yourself soon. Maybe it’s just a nudge from the Holy Spirit?

  9. Mike says:

I’ve been there, Bro. For me, generally that kind of feeling indicates a corner to be turned, or a new thing from God. All the time, actually. So take time to listen to the still, small voice.

    prayers and blessings.

Thanks everyone. JW, Russ & Mike … I think you’re def. onto something. I definitely have that feeling that there is some spiritual stuff involved. Definitely some warfare. I know I’m in some folk’s bulls eye. I know I’m in Satan’s, too. God is bigger.

If you believe in prophets … a lady I know who is truly gifted prophetically called me last week – she’d been walking, was a bit out of breath (maybe was still walking), called me and said God told her to tell me to get ready for “an opportunity”. My first impression was “a good opportunity to look forward to, or a negative opportunity to pray I don’t go into” … even still, the feeling I have is something I’ve gotta press through.

Thanks for praying – keep’m coming.

fred, i pray that God will show you what is nagging at you. He will give you the strength to fight through it physically, emotionally, and spiritually. i pray that you, joy, and the kids be surrounded by Gods protection as you fight through this.

  12. Sis says:

Definitely praying for you, too, bro. Sometimes the greatest challenge during these times is to not over-analyze or look for something that isn’t there, but just rest in God’s ability to open your eyes to what He wants you to see when He is ready (and when you are ready) to see it! Will be praying for patience to wait for God’s perfect work to be completed!
