Mike Guglielmucci – 1 Week After
Posted on August 27th, 2008 in Church Life, Faith, Music, Worship Leadership by Fred McKinnonOne week after the news broke about Mike Guglielmucci’s life of deception, we have learned more of the torment that he’s been under. Living a life addicted to pornography and lies, they took their toll on him – physically, spiritually, and emotionally.
I think it’s important to note that Mike wasn’t “caught” in this lie … the guilt overwhelmed him so much that he confessed. I praise God for that. I praise God that it was exposed – not for Mike’s shame, but for his own sake. Make no mistake about it … it is God’s LOVE, GRACE, and MERCY for Mike Guglielmucci that would draw him to confession and repentance.
I am not condoning his actions in any way, yet I’m constantly reminded of my own shortcomings and flaws. This one was a biggie, and got world attention.
As you watch the video unfold, I ask that you continue to pray for Mike, his family, and all those affected. One commentor yesterday said “he doesn’t deserve our prayers”. I could not disagree more strongly. Only a self-righteous blind man would think such a thing.
The reality is – NONE of us deserve ANYTHING but hell and damnation. We were born that way. It’s only by God’s awesome grace that we can even have confidence of our place in God’s Kingdom.

One week after, how are you doing?
