What’s Your Day Look Like?
Posted on September 18th, 2008 in Church Life, Life and Family by Fred McKinnonHey Everybody -
OK, so I’m breaking ranks and posting something that could have NOTHING to do with worship, worship leadership, etc. … and it’s not even Friday yet.
One thing that I love about this blog is the community we build. Twitter really helps with that. I wanted to bring it home today. Here’s a glimpse of my schedule today. I wanna hear about yours.
6:00 AM: quiet time/devotional time.
6:50 AM: get JM and Will up and dressed for school
7:00 AM: have b’fast with the family, Bible story, prayers
7:30 AM: finish tying shoes, combing hair, make sure kids are ready for school
(Note: these are struck through because though it’s the daily plan, I turned my alarm off at 6:00 and never knew another thing until around 7:35. Thanks for letting me sleep in, Joy baby. Though she never reads this blog, I’m thanking her!)
7:45 AM: kids out the door, shower/get dressed
8:00 AM: go upstairs and do HPP work (pack last nights orders, answer emails)
9:00 AM: head to SSCC for work
9:00 AM – 12:00 PM: emails, messages, prepare for tonight’s rehearsal, make sure all the lead sheets and chord charts are good, walk through the setlist, and today, reconcile by church visa statement.
NOON – 1:00/1:30′ish: Thursday Lunch in the Mezzanine – a bunch of us on staff bring in our lunch, eat a quick sandwich in the Mezzanine while watching SportsCenter, and then play Halo 3 on XBOX 360 (we have 4 of them, networked together, with 4 big plasmas. I lose every time)
After Lunch – 2:00: return phone calls, emails, print leadsheets for rehearsal
2:00 PM – 5:30 PM: go home for a few hours (normally to see kids b4 rehearsal, but today I have a studio editing/mixdown session with a local Music Minister)
5:30 PM: head back to SSCC, make sure food is ready for rehearsal, final stage setup if necessary
6:30 PM: food arrives for rehearsal
7:00 PM – 9:00 PM: SSCC rehersal
9:00 PM until: go back home, train new part-time employee on HPP Enterprises e-biz stuff.
Whenever that’s done, I’ll hopefully crash.
Vacation (just Joy and I with no kids) begins in 3 more days.
Let’s see a quick recap of your schedule today!
