I actually work from a list instead of a time table like you have. I tried that method and found myself not be able to work like that.

for starters i don't wake up like all you holy worship leaders @ 5:30am, my day starts usually when my son wakes up....8:00am
8:00am - get my son out of bed and watch my wife make hiim breakfast
8:45am - finally wipe the crusties out of my eyes and head to work
9:00am - check emails
9:30am - look @ calendar or toodledo to see what's in store for today
9:40am - try to figure out what not to work on so that i might accomplish one thing off my list in the am
11:30am - realize i haven't accomplished anything but started 3 projects off my toodledo and started 2 that i didn't even have written down
12:00pm - realizing i'm not very focused, i go to lunch...probably La Fiesta
1:00pm - come back focused, tired, and full
1:10pm - start one project to finish
3:00pm - get phone call from front office looking for deron....this disrupts my entire working process
5:00pm - start trying to shut things down bc my wife is calling me or has brought my son to keep my company in my office (distract me so i stop working: )
6:00pm - get home, decide we don't any food that sounds good to me
6:30pm - go to walmart
7:30pm - eat
8:00pm - watch some tv or a movie
11:00pm - wife goes to bed while i am watching letterman
12:00am - 2:00am - go to bed

"The way I see it - many of these volunteers come straight to the church from their all-day jobs … and we seldom get done before 8:30 or so … so the least we can do is invest $30/week into feeding them.

Chalk it onto the “HOSP902″ budget line item!"

You're so right. We do come straight from work. If I had a team and rehearsal, I'd do the same thing in some form or another.

Way to go Fred!

Dude, you're busy.

5:30 the alarm went off.
Greg Laurie on KWVE 107.9 tried earnestly to wake me up along with my cell phone; alas, I woke up LATE at 6:15 am in the middle of Steve Mays' sermon.
6:55 a.m. Husband drives me to train station.
7:11 a.m. Get on the Metrolink to work
7:40 a.m. Arrive in Santa Ana
7:55 a.m. Arrive at work; get latte across the street.
8:00 - Noon -- work or whatever comes my way while at work, right now it is posting on your blog.
Noon: Lunch hour. Gotta get snowflakes at Michaels for Women's Christmas Lunchon nametags.
1 p.m. - 5 p.m. Back to more work or piddling around on the internet.
I have to start studying James 4:11-12 (maybe to 17) for our ladies' study next Thursday that I am leading.
5:24 Metrolink home
6:00 picked up at station by husband and Chloe the Wonder Dog
6:00 - 10:00 p.m. Make dinner, paint snowflake ornaments, get chord charts assembled for worship at Friday Motel outreach, maybe watch The Office Season 4 (that arrived from netflix yesterday).

Hey dude, I like the way that scheduling thingee looks. Is it free? Or is it one of those high dollar programs that professional musicians can afford as though it was nothing at all?

6:00-6:40 This is the time frame that I usually wake up in without the alarm clock.
6:40-7:15 Help wake up kids (usually one call on Ethan, two on David and three on Julia), breakfast, brushing hair, and giving out threats not to make the trip to school late so Sandy won't have to take Ethan all the way to school. (He catches the bus from David and Julia's school to his)

7:15 - 8:15 Quiet time, work on book, check email, whatever I feel motivated to do.

8:15-8:45 Shower and get ready for work

9:00-2:00 Whatever my boss-man tells me to do

2-3 lunch

3-6 See 9-2

6-bedtime (anywhere from 9:30-12:00) Whatever my wife tells me to do!

Simple, huh?

Mike,
Man, throw kids in the mix, and our days look similar, huh!?

RE: FOOD - yeah, we take care of volunteers, and it's a critical part of our budget. Nothing elaborate, Dominos gives us a 1-topping large for $6.00 ... so I can spend about $25-30 (w/ driver tip) per week, and have 4 pizzas delivered at 6:30. It gives us (the band/volunteers/lighting/av/sound/vocalist) time to come in after work, eat together, talk, laugh, fellowship, and just relax before hitting the stage for rehearsal.

The way I see it - many of these volunteers come straight to the church from their all-day jobs ... and we seldom get done before 8:30 or so ... so the least we can do is invest $30/week into feeding them.

Chalk it onto the "HOSP902" budget line item!
