A really good post! I’ve said for a long time that “worship” is not something we do, it’s a lifestyle. I still believe that way. As for the poverty angle, we at WOC are ministering the bread of life (food, worship and ministry of the word) to approximately 80 – 120 families per month.

I’m reading “Crazy Love” ( http://www.crazylovebook.com ) and one of the things he mentions is how we want to ask God to explain things to us. One of the questions we ask Him is “why are there so many starving people in the world?”

His response? God has more of a right to ask us “why are there so many starving people in the world?”

We have been talking about sponsoring a child for many months now, Fred. I think you’re right. It’s time we stopped “talking” about it and make a change and start “doing” it.

Thanks … the wakeup call for me was when I was willing to pay $40 a month for a dataplan on my cell phone … but wasn’t sponsoring a child. Talk about conviction.

Good to see your post on Blog Action Day as well – there’s a home grown example of great initiatives right here in our own backyard that I didn’t even know about.

Good post Fred. I love seeing new angles on well-known verses like Romans 12:1! We also sponsor a child but through World Vision. It's crazy to know that what would normally be the price of a meal at Outback is changing a child's life. Thanks for joining in the discussion.
