It’s Official – Re:create 2009

Well, it’s official. I just paid my “early bird” registration deposit for the re:create conference, hosted by Randy Elrod and Co in Franklin, TN. For 2+ years I’ve been hearing about the awesomeness of this conference. I don’t even like calling this a “conference” when you consider that it’s limited to 150 folks.
It’s dubbed as the “Annual Thinktank for Arts and Worship Leaders”. What appeals to me most is the smaller group, and the ability to connect on a more personal, meaningful level with the leaders in worship and arts. In addition, lots of folks I’ve “met” through blogging go, so it should be a nice reunion or first-time meetups!
I am so far from having it all figured out, and I’m so grateful for the opportunity to go and get equipped and resourced from great leaders who are preparing the way.

I really wish we had the coin to send some people to these things. Why do worships conferences always have to be so expensive? It’s really frustrating for smaller churches who cannot afford three hundred bucks a seat, plus meals, plus transportation, plus rooms….
Ahhh, just venting. But if someone could come up with a reasonably affordable conference, it would be great!

Looking forward to another conference with you and getting to know you better. RECREATE is not a conference… it’s a breath of fresh air. there is no pretense among the leaders there–everyone shares, everyone enjoys, everyone experiences together. It’s very different from conferences where you only fill your head with more knowledge. You’ll make some great connections here.

Well, I too will be at re:create – my first time attending although I’ve been wanting to go for a long time. I will have my final class with Integrity Worship Institute in October of 09. Other than that I’m not sure. It will depend on money and time. 2009 is a crazy big year in our family – our youngest graduates from high school, our other two graduate from college, and it’s the year of our 25th Anniversary…….
