FreePlay Friday – This Week
Posted on December 12th, 2008 in Free Play Fridays, Life and Family by Fred McKinnon
Hey Everybody -
So we start out another FreePlay Friday with a new, whimsical banner created by my friend, Russ Hutto. Thanks, Russ – be sure and subscribe to his blog, you folk!
My brother, Robert … IM’s me around noon saying “where’s my FreePlay Friday”? Sorry I’m running a litte late today.
For those of you who may be “new” around here … I like to make Friday’s the day to talk about whatever we want – life, family, and your stuff, too … so jump in the comments, and make your own random “freeplay” of what’s going on with you.
This week:
1 – we got our house all decorated for Christmas, and got our tree. I think it’s the most beautiful one yet!
2 – Speaking of Russ (above) … he’s now working a great social community as our “Twitter Ambassador” for TheWorshipCommunity.Com … so, if you use Twitter, consider following our feed.
3 – Darrell Evans has a new CD out … and I’m loving it. You can get it here.
4 – This Sunday will be my last Sunday leading worship @SSCC this year. (that sounds drastic). I’ll be off on 12/21 because I’m rehearsing for Jingle Jam. I’ll co-lead on Christmas Eve, but hey – that’s not a Sunday. Then, we always take the last Sunday of the year off to do “Church in the Home”.
5 – Speaking of Church in the Home … both Will and Jon Michael (6 and
have officially prayed and confessed Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and they wanna get baptized. PRAISE GOD!
6 – Joy bought a few boxes of Cookie Crisp cereal for the kids to have on special days. Who is she kidding, I’ve already finished off one box. I let Andrew and Rebekah have some the other morning, and Joy said to me “Fred, don’t be a bad influence” and Rebekah in her precious, princess voice turned to Joy and said “Mom, don’t you call my Prince Charmer an influence”.
That’s all for now … what’s up for your weekend?

Go ‘Bekah! All the McKinnon men are “Prince Charmers”! And go boys! I love the idea about having a Sunday to do church in the home! We’ve been thinking about some things and that just may be a great thing to pray about!
And finally, Cookie Crisp ROCKS!
As for me, I’ve been picking the brain of your friend Chris Moncus ( http://www.chrismoncus.com ) and he’s been “mentoring” me on my photography ventures.
Well, as of Saturday I have a website for my photography at capturethemoment.zenfolio.com ! I’m very excited about it, and God Bless Chris Moncus!
We’re ready for Christmas (I think). Sandy got excited ’cause she finally found Rebekah’s gift! We’re looking forward to seeing all yours on Christmas day!

Thanks for the link love!
I gotta get that D. Evans, album. He’s one of my early influences.
That is hilarious about The cereal.
Rejoicing with you about the boys! Praise God!

Fred – that’s awesome about your boys…and the story is the same in our house about the cereal (only it’s Peanut Butter Crunch in the Palmer House).
We’re still in “move mode” so I’m heading down to Sylvania for another “box run”. You can bet I’ll be rockin’ the new D.E. on the trip!

Awesome stuff Fred! This Saturday our worship team is throwing down our 2nd annual “Spirit and Truth Worship Christmas Party”. I posted up this question in video regarding worship team Christmas parties, “What does your worship team do for the Holidays? feel free to check it out at http://www.johnnysierra.blogspot.com.
As far as decorations we are pretty good. We got the tree up last weekend. But we are definately slacking on holiday shooping for Christmas gifts! Am I the only one?
Johnny Sierras last blog post..Hey! So glad you dropped a comment over on my site…
I’d love to hear more about “Church in the home”. Is it simply a Sunday off with a catchy name or do you so something else with it? I’m toying with an idea to try the same at our church next year and am looking for a good way to make it happen.
