Hello Everyone!

Welcome to the 29th week of “Sunday Setlists” – we are now over 1/2 of a year into “Sunday Setlists” and it’s growing each week – thanks to YOU!

Something new:
For those who are using Twitter.Com – please announce your Sunday Setlists participation to your followers by using the tag:  #sundaysetlists
Be sure to use the plural tag #sundaysetlists and share your links.  (Example tweet:  #sundaysetlists Hey Everyone, just posted our worship confessional (link) as part of Sunday Setlists)

By using the #sundaysetlists tag, we can search twitter and see who all is ‘tweeting’ about Sunday Setlists!

For the rules and how to participate, please see the new, “official” Sunday Setlists page.  Here’s the short version:
1.  blog about your worship service, and link back to this post:
http://www.fredmckinnon.com/myblog/2009/02/08/sunday-setlists-29/
2.  fill out the Mister Linky below, linking directly to your post (not your homepage, see the rules)
3.  leave a comment, visit the other blogs, and spread the word.  Use Twitter and the hashtag: #sundaysetlists

Invitation:
We’ve been hitting 50+ each week, and my goal is to see this grow to over 100 links each week – all sharing the creative ideas, liturgies, songs, sermon series, media elements, and reviews of our worship services.  Please spread the word this week – use Twitter, use your blog, and IM/DM/Email your friends.  Ask people who attend your church (that blog) to post their recap – it’s fine to have multiple reviews from a single service – we want perspective, on and off the platform, folks!

Here we go – my “Worship Confessional” for St. Simons Community Church, Sunday Feb 8, 2009

Since I was off at the re:create 2009 conference this past week, I didn’t schedule myself for Sunday.  I enjoyed a Sunday off the platform, so our worship was led by Harriet, one of the incredible worship leaders here at SSCC.  Harriet dipped back a few years and pulled some of the older songs that haven’t been done in a while – here’s a rundown of the service.  We had two baby dedications, so things were cut back a bit more than normal.

Walk In:
Step By Step (Rich Mullins)
The Happy Song (Delirious) *added harmonica, very nice

Opening Song:
Days of Elijah

Baby Dedication
(one baby at 9:00 service, another at 11:00)

Worship Set:
Softly and Tenderly (special music, the traditional hymn, slow and contemplative.  People got saved this week!)
Sing to the King

Video Element:
It’s Personal – testimony video (powerful)

Sermon:
Coming to Terms, Week 2 of the “It’s Personal” series

Closer:
Take My Life (Third Day)

OK – now time for you to share – fill out this Mister Linky box below, and be sure your URL link goes to your actual blog post, and NOT your blog’s homepage

  16. [...] While the service went off without a hitch, there were certainly some gremlins working in the background. We added to our lighting setup this week, and it apparently pushed the electrical circuits at the theater over the limit and we began blowing breakers left and right. And of course, it couldn’t just take the lights, it had to take out the main projector and teleprompter and a half-dozen other things as well. We’re already working on a solution to the power problems for next week and should have it straightened around by then. The new setup was AMAZING and really helped to create the right mood. Can’t wait to see how the rest of the series unfolds! While you’re at it, check out the Sunday Setlist blog carnival here. [...]
