Hello friends,

Today is the 41st Sunday where we’ve come together from around the world, celebrating and sharing what happened in our church worship services.  For all the details on the “Sunday Setlists” blog carnival, go here.

If you’d like to receive an email reminder each week to post your setlist, go here.

How to participate:

  1. Blog about your worship service.  (It doesn’t matter if it was on Sunday or not, can be any worship service).  If you don’t have a blog, just leave your recap in the comments box below.
  2. In your blog, please mention that you are participating in the “Sunday Setlists” blog carnival at FredMcKinnon.Com and link back to this post.  The URL to use is:

My Sunday Setlist:

Overview:  today was the 4th and final day in our “Break Free” series at SSCC.  I was pretty exhausted and terribly weak in voice from a week of sickness, followed by a weekend of camping and a late drive home last night.  If I had to do it all over again, I would’ve taken the weekend off and scheduled someone else to lead.  I’m glad it worked out because we had two great worship services today.

Walk-in:
“Glorious” (Martha Munizzi) itunes-badge
This is such a fun song.  We are using a click-track and loop from Ableton Live that I created which keeps us on tempo, and adds some percussion and horns to fill out the band.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

(Download the .MP3 Loop | Download Full package for Ableton Live)

Opening Set:

“You, You Are God” (song by Walker Beach recorded on CFNI and Gateway worship, but my version from Worship Under the Stars) itunes-badge
“Glorious One” (Steve Fee) itunes-badge

Second Set:

“Be Unto Your Name” (Robin Mark, Revival in Belfast) itunes-badge
“Great is Thy Faithfulness” (trad. hymn, piano/ vocals only)
“Piano Interlude” (myself)

Closer:

Shackles (Mary Mary) itunes-badge

Overview:

All in all, a great morning.  The energy of an opener like “Glorious” is always a great kick off.  Although “Glorious One” is a driving rock song, our people seem to really chime in on the Chorus.  I drop it to the Key of C to make it more singable.

I *really* love the old “Be Unto Your Name” song by Robin Mark.  Our people start singing aloud instantly.  From that, the band slipped off stage while I played an intro to the classic hymn, “Great is Thy Faithfulness”.  Kim Dixon led the verses and the people sang aloud.  The Chorus was full and it was a beautiful sound of worship to me.

We closed out our service with “Shackles” as we closed out our series, “Break Free” on fear.  It was very appropriate and the crowd really enjoyed it.  I had more people than ever come up and say “I wish we could dance more like that”.  I wanted to say “why don’t you!?”  I’m sure we’ll get some complaints too, but that’s OK.  This song is a blast to play and we had a ton of fun praising God in it.

Now it’s your turn.  Share about your worship service and visit the other links.  Add your link below.
IMPORTANT: Put the URL to your actual post, and NOT your blog’s homepage (ie. myblog.wordpress.com, or yourblog.blogspot.com, etc).  Homepage links will be deleted.  If you aren’t sure how do to this, publish your blog, then go to your blog’s homepage, and click the TITLE of your post.  That will open that entry – copy/paste THAT URL into the Mr. Linky below)
