Dear God, I …

Posted on June 24th, 2009 in Dear God, Faith by Fred McKinnon

Dear God,

I know I have a seat forever, at Your table.

But …

I don’t know Your Presence as I once did.

Do you ever feel that way?

I feel this way most of the time. And the more I get to know Him, the less I find I know Him. No matter how close we get, I always feel so far away!

While part of me hates this feeling, another part hopes I never feel differently.

    Is that wierd?

Yes. A lot of days. The way I felt yesterday was I struggled comparing myself to everybody else sitting at the table instead of focusing on hanging with God. It was a miserable feeling.

A lot recently. I’m hungry for more – and not in that, I’ve got a lot in just want some more kind of way, instead in the – sure doesn’t feel like I’m anywhere near you right now and I need to fill your presence again, kind of way.

I’ve felt that way recently as well. Sometimes I can get so caught up in service for the King that I forget about the King of the service. We all want more of God’s presence in our lives, but sometimes I can get too busy to pursue it.
