I saw an answer on facebook. You went to a Debbie Gibson concert? Oh my gosh you seriously made my day the part about how you were screaming how much you loved her! HAHAHAHAHA! I am going to be honest and say I am jealous. I would have loved to see her or Tiffany! Thank you for sharing that Fred.

She was big in the 80’s, but not very long.
She didn’t have a long career.

For what it’s worth, she was at Six Flags, and we nearly got thrown out of the park screaming how much we loved her. HAHAHAHAHA

My mom and I would always listen to the music or think in the car. We talked at home but rarely while driving. Songs that remind me of her are James Dean You’ve got a Friend, and Helen Reddy You and Me Against the World. She always said that song was about her and I. She was my biggest cheerleader and I miss her a lot. Other songs are Janis Joplin Bobby McGee and The Rose.
After reading your post I realize music was a big part of my past. There was a huge outdoor concert theatre where I have seen MC Hammer, TLC, Villiage People (it’s pretty cool watching a hug crowd of people motion to YMCA), Air Supply, Foreigner, Steve Miller Band to name a few.
And I can’t forget NKOTB. My fav was Joey. My mom surprised me one year for my birthday and bought me tickets to see them and then surprised me with a limo ride to the concert.
She really knew how to make my birthday special.

I used to play “Leaving on a Jet Plane” on the piano as a kid, all the time. When you mention Conway Twitty, allz I can think about is one of my oldest brother’s girlfriends – she loved him, and as a kid, I remember being the obnoxious little brother, teasing her about it.

you’re going to laugh at some of mine. I grew up with my dad playing “I’m Leaving on a Jet Plane” on the guitar. This was apparently the only song he knew, but I think it only has two chords in it. So I know all the words! I also grew up with Carly Simon and James Taylor (this is my mother’s influence)

But one song that really sticks out to me from my teenage years is “Love to Lay You Down” by Conway Twitty. It was on the jukebox at the BBQ joint i worked at. It’s a great love song. “Even if your hair’s all up in curlers I’d still love to lay you down…” Especially for us middle aged women! haha
