Home, Sweet Home
Posted on August 5th, 2009 in Family, Life and Family, Worship Leadership by Fred McKinnonI’m home. I’m finally home.
I’ve been out of the office for 2+ weeks. School starts tomorrow here so everybody is getting back in gear.
As those who follow this blog already know – I spent a week in Kansas at the National Worship Leader Conference. I had the privilege of being a speaker at the conference and was on their “New Media” discussion panel as well. Because of the generous, selfless time of mine and Joy’s parents, we were able to attend the KS trip together, husband and wife, with no kids!
After flying home from Kansas, we took 1-1/2 days to wash clothes, pay bills, check in at the church, tie up any loose ends, and head out to North Georgia with all the kids. Most of Joy’s family is in the Gainesville, GA area on Lake Lanier. It’s like a free vacation for us. We spent the bulk of our time laying around and playing on the lake. We skiied, tubed, knee boarded, swam, and basically had the time of our lives. On our final day we drove up into the mountains and tubed down the river in Helen, GA.
Now we’re back – and it’s time to jump into gear at SSCC. I’ll be resuming blog postings about worship, leadership, church life, faith, and music. I think I’ll be taking a “break” from blogging and twitter soon – not sure when, or how long, but feel the need to unplug for at least a few days. I’ll give fair warning!
