My Worship Confessional for SSCC

Though our normal time of singing was cut short by 1 song (for extra time on baby dedications in both services), we had a sweet, great time in worship today at St. Simons Community Church.

Walk In:
“Glorious” (Martha & Dan Munizzi/Israel Houghton) … we used the Ableton Live track from Interactive Worship Live, and it rocked!

Opening Song:
“Glory to God Forever” (Steve Fee/Vicky Beeching, maybe my favorite driving rock tune right now!)

Second Set:
We did baby dedications a bit different today.  We had all of them come forward and then we had elders and/or staff pray for the families as we continued in corporate singing.  I chose a hymn that was appropriate for us to sing in giving our lives to God, and to sing “in faith” for the children who were being dedicated.

“Take My Life and Let It Be” (the older CFNI/Kari Jobe version)
“Revelation Song” (one of our church favorites!)

Sermon: Part 1 of 3 of a new series called “Go” …

Closing Song:
“If You Say Go” (Vineyard)

Share Your Worship Service Recap:

    Hey folks,

Back after being crazy busy for a couple of weeks. We had a great service. November 11th is Remembrance Day in Canada. We join Christians world-wide as we pray for peace.

    Blessings,
    …Randy

“Revelation Song” is one of my personal favourites…though we’ve never done it in church.

    This may change soon…

    Great set Fred!!

To everyone – so sorry to keep posting two @danieljohn’s to the list. I’m not sure what is going on these past two weeks. I only enter the address once, click enter once, but somehow I keep getting two entries. I really apologize for this – I’m going to try a different browser next week and see if that helps. all the best!

    Fred and Friends,
Today was my last day leading worship at The Brook, a church I helped plant 11 1/2 years ago. It was an emotional day and I simply can’t write about it yet. It is a set of worship I’ll never forget leading though.

I’d appreciate your prayers for the days ahead. My trip to train church leaders in worship went so well, but after the trip and the weekend I am emotionally and physically spent. Pray I do not lose heart or perspective in the days ahead and that God opens the doors widely for me to pursue this new phase of ministry….

On a personal note, could you pray for my dad. He has surgery for prostate cancer on Tuesday….

I am taking a much-needed week off from both of my churches this week. No singing for ten days is just what the doctor ordered. (more like 30 days, but that’s impossible…)

This past weekend, we rolled out “Until The Whole World Hears” at Central Highlands church and got a great reaction from the congregation. It’s the best song Casting Crowns has ever done, in my opinion.

This was also the first weekend that I ever played “Empty Me,” and I did it Jeremy Camp style, with the band at Central Highlands Church, and as a solo piece at Homestead Park Church.

My power ballad arrangement of “Battle Hymn Of The Republic” was very well received, honoring the veterans who served both God and country.

I love If You Say Go, great song.

I was out of town this week, (you can read about it at http://tinyurl.com/y86skyk). Jon Shipman led at home, Ruth Pingel helped me out by submitting a Sunday Setlist for me.

God bless, everybody have a great week!
