Hey Gang,

Well, confession time.  Since I moved the “Sunday Setlists” event over to TheWorshipCommunity.Com, and Russ Hutto does most of the posting for it .. I’ve not been very consistent at posting our own recaps.  Doh.  Sorry!

We had a great worship service at SSCC yesterday.  We’re in this series called “Worth Fighting For” and it’s all about fighting for marriage and families.  This week’s service was a bit unplanned, as we decided to feature a couple from our church during the sermon.  They shared about how they’ve had struggles in marriage (like all of us) and how they’ve gotten help.  We ended with a visible demonstration of our commitment to marriages and family when the entire front of our church was filled with the “Marriage Mentors” who have been trained by our Family Counselor and her wonderful team.

The music helped set the environment  …

Walk In:  “Eye of the Tiger” (Survivor) … a great way to get people “in the mood” to fight!

For our closer, we invited people to come to the altars to pray, to ask for help, to commit their marriages, their families, etc.  I thought it would be fun to play a “love ballad” and this one from the early 90′s kept coming to me because of the line “you can’t tell me, it’s not worth fighting for” …

So yeah .. we did it … “Everything I Do” (I Do It For You) – Bryan Adams.  What a blast!
