About me: Associate Pastor/Worship at a thriving church in Middle Tennessee, specifically Franklin, where one of our core values is 'passionate worship.' I have had the privilege of serving at this church for the last twelve years and in similar positions for another 15. My passions these days are: leading others in worship and learning how to be a more effective leader of people and teams.

  1. Do You Sing Patriotic Songs in Church?

    We choose not to do patriotic songs. For too long, on the services surrounding July 4, churches have worshiped the ‘ideal’ of a God blessed country instead of God.

    We do choose however to have a dedicated time of prayer divided into three parts:
    *thanksgiving for the freedoms we enjoy
    *wisdom for our elected leaders
    *our responsibility to live and share Christ with our country.
