About Me
Hey Ya’ll,
Welcome to my personal site. From here you can learn a bit more about me … check out my blog for insights, rants, and ravings on what I’m thinking these days, or the photo gallery for various pictures of family and local sights. If you’re looking to buy my music, just use the “Buy My Music” page.
I suppose the most important thing that anyone can know about me is that I’m a disciple of Christ … aka a “Christian”. The word is so common these days - I wonder if folks really understand it. I’m far from perfect and many days I don’t act very “Christ-like”. Regardless, I have faith in Jesus Christ as the Living Son of God. He is my Savior and I trust that I’ll be in heaven one day as a result of His free gift of salvation to me. My life, my music, my family, my businesses - all of it would be incomplete without Christ and the daily, empowering presence of His Holy Spirit inside of me.
That being said … I’ve come to accept that I’m a unique character with an unsual set of giftings and talents. God blessed me with musical talent for which I’m forever grateful. This has been evident in my life since I was a young child. It wasn’t until later in life that I began to understand that God had also given me giftings in the area of “creative business” ideas … and the courage to chase after them. So, I suppose I’d call myself an “entrepreneur” for that reason. It spills over into all aspects of my life - from the marketing of my music, creation of new business and finance ideas, and even to the way I minister.
I attended Georgia Southern University where I received a degree in music, double-majoring in Piano Performance and Theory/Composition. It was during this time where I was first introduced to the “computer” and using it for the creation of music. I’ve been hooked ever since … and not just on any computer … I’m an Apple Addict.
Currently, I live on St. Simons Island, GA with my wife, Joy, and our beautiful kids. It’s a great place to live and I count my blessings daily. I’m married to the best woman on the planet and have the most wonderful, supportive, and loving extended family that anyone could ever ask for. I’m currently serving as the Worship Pastor for St. Simons Community Church here on St. Simons Island, GA.
My passion is in music and ministry, yet at the same time - I’m nuts about starting and maintaining businesses. I own Highest Praise Productions, Inc., which started out as a music production company. Underneath that corporation, there are more “DBA’s” to list, the most prominent being our HPP Web Solutions company. From within the hosting company I’ve launched and managed multiple e-commerce ventures and sites all under the DBA “HPP Enterprises”. Some of these sites include www.discountkidsgames.com, www.thekidmall.com, www.instrumentalworship.com, www.hppenterprises.com, we sell on Ebay and Amazon.Com … and the list goes on and on.
When it comes right down to it, I suppose the only thing that matters at the end of the day is that I go to sleep feeling that I pleased God, my heavenly Father. I often find that I get too involved in the “business” and not enough involved in the “work” of His Kingdom, even though I think He’s placed it all in my life for a great purpose. But I’m grateful that He loves me and guides me each day. Before I’m a great musician, worshiper, or entrepreneur, I want to be a great Christian, Husband, and Father. That, my friends, is my ultimate purpose and aim.
For the Kingdom,
Fred F. McKinnon

Hi Fred:
Following up on your recent GNWDA e-reply to my WordPress/blogging inquiry, I visited your blog and like it a lot. Thanks for the link!
May I ask a few questions?
– Does WP provide the skin for your blog (the colors and rounded corners)?
– Once my server sets me up with WP, is there another code or system to learn to enable me to put all you put on your blog?
– Is setting up podcasts on a blog difficult? Extra costs?
– Must visitors subscribe in order to comment, etc?
Thanks, Fred.
BTW: I enjoyed the uTube show about Vista’s cloning of OS X very much!
BTW2: When clicking the “Worship Interludes Podcast” in your “My Podcasts” section, I get an Error 400: Bad site code notice.
Other than that glitch, I love what you’ve created and am inspired to make a wonderful set of blogs for my church leadership.
Thanks again!
