OK, It’s Time for a Joint
Written by Fred McKinnon on March 5, 2009 – 8:13 AM -
OK – so maybe not “a joint”; rather, “The Joint”.
Here’s the deal, I’ve been pretty busy this week and haven’t posted on the blog much – my bad. What I’ve been doing this week is pointing you to some other destinations online that I think you should know about. Earlier I posted a link to the ReVue on TheWorshipCommunity.Com of Kari Jobe’s new album – which is getting a lot of feedback.
Today I’d like to announce a collaborative effort of several of my worship-blogging friends:
Joel Klampert
Conner Byrd
Alastair Vance
I had the privilege of spending a week with Joel and Alastair in February in Nashville. Conner, you are next on the list, bro!
“The Joint” is a multi-person review (much like the ReVue that we have on TheWorshipCommunity.Com) on music. As Joel puts it, “3 guys…3 worship leaders….3 wicked cool people…and tons and tons of music to review with our thoughts that you can use.”
Their first “Joint” is a review of a Christian Hip Hop Artist, “The Czar”. I don’t usually buy hip-hop, but reading the 3 different reviews on each of their blogs really makes me want to check it out and support this artist.
So here’s the deal. COMMENTS are turned OFF on today’s post. Take the time you’d normally use to comment here and use that type to visit the 3 blogs above and create community there.
Tweet this, FaceBook this, spread the word, and shout it from the mountaintops. “The Joint” is going to catch on.
Kudos, guys. You rock.

Freddy Rodriguez ReVue
Written by Fred McKinnon on February 11, 2009 – 8:25 AM -
One of the coolest things that has been happening over at TheWorshipCommunity.Com is the “ReVue” series … where instead of having one person (often, the same person) do a review of new worship resources, we get multiple reviews on the same resource.
We call this the “ReVue” and we just published a “ReVue” on a brand new album released by Integrity Music called “Light in the Darkness” from Champions Center in Las Vegas, NV.
Led by worship leader Freddy Rodriguez, this album has a unique blend of styles, grooves, and songs. The album was reviewed by Erika Michelle, Chris Vacher, Joel Klampert, and Russ Hutto.
Checkout the full “ReVue” over at TheWorshipCommunity.Com!

FreePlay Friday – Wassupppp?
Written by Fred McKinnon on October 24, 2008 – 8:19 AM -
Hey Everybody – it’s FreePlay Friday. We take a break from the various worship leadership discussions and just talk about “whatever we want”. RSS Readers – click over and leave a comment and join the fun.
Here we go:
* I’m in Gainesville, GA today – going back tomorrow. We made a quick trip up to celebrate my in-laws 50th Wedding Anniversary. Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Wilbanks.
* I’d love to see Georgia upset LSU … I think they could do it if the young offensive line can somehow protect Stafford and give him time to pass, and of course, if they can make room for the running game. It all rests on this young offensive line, IMHO.
* Blog buddy and friend, Joel Klampert … he’s officially made the switch from wordpress hosted cecworship.wordpress.com to his flashy, fancy, slick new site, www.klampert.com. If Joel isn’t on your RSS feed, you should add it … great content on worship, leadership, reviews, and graphics.
* This morning we played a great “brain teaser” game with all the kids. Can you figure it out by asking yes or no questions? “The boy was afraid to go home because the masked man was there”. They were stumped pretty hard until Grandad gave a massive hint.
