Mindful Moments, Opus 8 [Episode 262]

“Mindful Moments, Op. 8” – Solo Piano Instrumental Interludes by Fred McKinnon

Released October 9, 2021

Today’s interlude is a shorter piano instrumental that is part of my “Mindful Moments” series. This series features piano improvisations that are under five minutes. My wife was talking about some of my instrumental pieces earlier this week. She is a fitness instructor and likes to play some of these instrumentals during cool down periods or for stretching. She clearly prefers the pieces that have more of a melody and not the chordal pieces that leave a lot of space.

Today’s interlude is full of melody. Recorded in the Key of A Major, the motif is based all around the Maj7 of the key and is playful yet peaceful.

I hope you enjoy this week’s recording.

As always, I’m grateful for your listening and your support.

Grace and peace,

Fred McKinnon, Pianist/Composer
