Fred McKinnon - Pianist/Composer
Fred McKinnon is a Georgia-based pianist and composer. He has been making music as long as he was big enough to crawl up on a piano bench. He began piano lessons in the first grade and took throughout his elementary, middle, and high school years. He then attended Georgia Southern University on scholarship where he obtained his Bachelor of Music, double-majoring in Piano Performance and Theory/Composition.
His music is ideal for devotional times of prayer, meditation, instrumental worship, soaking worship, studying music, sleeping music, and relaxation music. It includes both solo piano and orchestrated music that is perfect for personal listening, soundtracks, and film scoring.
In religious settings, Fred’s music has been played as background music for soaking worship, altar calls, prelude music, and music for personal and corporate prayer and devotions. Another frequent use of this music is in the world of fitness and physical care, such as yoga, massage therapy, and stretch or de-stress classes.
Family, Personal, and Work
Fred is happily married to his wife, Joy. They have four beautiful children: Jon Michael, Will, Rebekah, and Andrew. They currently live on St. Simons Island, Georgia – a fantastic beach town in the “Golden Isles” of Georgia. Fred has actively served for over 25 years in music ministry roles in various churches.
Another passion that Fred has enjoyed over the past decade is e-commerce. He likes to say he was born with this blessing and curse of having the rare DNA mix of both creative artist AND entrepreneur. He’s always been active online, from running website hosting, marketing music, and full-blown e-commerce ventures.
Outside of music and work, Fred is an outdoorsman, enjoying both hunting and fishing. He loves the Atlanta Braves and Georgia Bulldogs – even when they are terrible. That’s a true fan.
